Presentation Overview

Join us for a 1‑hour virtual session during National Career Development Month to explore Ohio’s statewide vision for K–12 career planning through the updated Career Connections Framework. We’ll take a practical look at the tools and resources released this summer that support consistent career awareness, exploration, preparation, and participation — and consider how they help students develop the self‑agency and durable skills that matter throughout life, no matter their path.

Together, we’ll reflect on how educators, career professionals, and higher‑education partners can contribute to a more collaborative, coherent journey for Ohio’s students, and explore how the Career Connections approach can strengthen shared efforts across sectors.

Learning Objectives:


By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the key components of Ohio’s updated Career Connections Framework and how career awareness, exploration, preparation, and participation support students’ career development.
  • Identify tools and resources within the Career Connections Framework that can be used to strengthen students’ self-agency, durable skills, and career readiness.
  • Explore opportunities for collaboration among K–12 educators, career professionals, and higher education partners to create a more connected and consistent career development journey for Ohio students.
